How do my Push Notifications look on all browsers and devices?

Both the Web Push and App Push are sent correctly to each device and also the console has a virtual visualization so you can see the final result. Perhaps the first time we do a push we can have some doubts about it, what can I do if the push is not seen in my browser?

Stay calm! iurny ensures the operation of push notifications in more than 80% of browsers without any type of certificate since it offers a tool aimed at people like you, without technical training. To reach all browsers, certain factors and requirements must be taken into account. To put it plainly, we send the same push to all devices but we need some requirements for a few cases. Think, for example, of mobile phone chargers: an android charger doesn’t work with an iPhone. It is a basic example to understand that technology needs special requirements depending on the platform we are using.

Web Push:

The web push are configured from any website and begin to work after the acceptance of the user to receive them when has visited this web. Web pushes look great on any device (mobile, tablet or computer) with the main browsers: Chrome, Firefox, Opera and Edge covering more than 80% of internet usage globally (Source: StatCounter).

For the Safari browser, developed by Apple for all iOS devices, it is necessary to have the Safari .p12 certificate. In this link we tell you step by step how to get it. Keep in mind that Apple has two requirements to get it: access to a Mac Note and having an Apple developer account.
NOTE: Web Push does not work on iOS phones but works correctly on Apple computers and tablets if you have such a certificate, which means covering 100% of all browsers. For iOS mobiles you must set up an App Push.

App Push:

On the other hand, the App Push is configured from an App that the user has to have installed on the mobile (smartphone). In the same way that each operating system needs the programming of a different App, for the sending of push it is also necessary to comply with the requirements of each system. We detail the percentage of use globally in February 2022 globally. You can research the data of your market area on the StatCounter website).

  • Android (66%): For Android devices it is necessary to have an FCM (Firebase Cloud Messaging) Server Key. Click here for all explanation.
  • Huawei (6%): For Huawei devices it is necessary to have the App Secret and App ID provided by Huawei for its Harmony operating system.
  • iOS (28%): To send notifications to these devices, the P12 or P8 certificate is required. We explain it step by step here.

With these requirements in mind, you can create your Push to make it look good on all devices. If you do not have these certificates, keep in mind that you will be achieving a presence of the web push in 80% of the browsers. Remember that the configuration is made in the User’s Account, located at the top of the right (where your user and email appear). Once you enter all the data for your project, you can create the following notifications in a few minutes.
